Study Groups:

As part of our journey of being followers of Christ, we believe that it is important that we study scripture and grow in our understanding of the life, mission, and teachings of Jesus Christ. Therefore, a primary emphasis in the adult ministries of Happy Corner involves study opportunities.

Study groups include our Sunday school department, small groups, and seasonal elective Bible/book studies. The follow is a listing and guide of the groups currently being offered at Happy Corner.

Young at Heart Class – The Young at Heart class is made up of individuals between the ages of 25 and 45. This class meets in room #306 on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:20AM. This class offers a welcoming blend of scripture, book study, and discussion. Recent studies have included books such as “The Jesus I Never Knew” by Phillip Yancey, “The Prodigal God” by Timothy Keller, and “The Upside Down Kingdom” by Don Kraybill. Leadership of this class is shared by several members of the class. *(This class breaks to attend the Summer Elective Series)

Discovery Class – The Discovery class is made up of a variety of ages and meets in room #304 on Sunday mornings from 9:30 -10:20 AM. The Discovery class offers a welcoming blend of scripture, book study, and discussion. Recent studies include “The Shack” by William Young.

Koinonia Class – The Koinonia class is made up of older adults and meets in room #303 on Sunday mornings between 9:30 – 10:20 AM. This class offers study from the “A Guide to Biblical Studies” curriculum published by Brethren Press which is a quarterly publication. The Koinonia Class offers a more traditional approach to Bible Study and involves group scripture reading, discussion, and fellowship.

Happy Class – The Happy class is made up of older adults and meets in room #301 on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:20 AM. This class offers study from the “A Guide to Biblical Studies” curriculum published by Brethren Press which is a quarterly publication. The Happy class offers a more traditional approach to Bible Study and involves group scripture reading, discussion, and fellowship.

Welcome Class- As needed, the welcome class meets in the church office on Sunday mornings from 9:30 – 10:15 AM. The goal of the Welcome Class is to allow Pastor Kelly to share with new individuals information about Happy Corner Church of the Brethren. This class runs approximately six weeks and covers information (history, theology, vision) of Happy Corner Church of the Brethren. Men’s Group: Men’s group is for men of all ages seeking to grow in faith. The Men’s group meets between the dates of October-November and February – Mid-April. Gatherings of this group are held off campus in the homes of participants. The Men’s Group share together in a meal, study, fellowship, and prayer. The group also participates with Women’s Fellowship and other groups in special events of the congregation. Women's Fellowship: Women's Fellowship is for women of all ages seeking to grow in faith.  This group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM in Room #304. Women's Fellowship hosts baby showers and bridal showers for members of our church family, and sponsors various events all year round.  Some of the most popular of these events is the Annual Cabbage Roll Dinner in March and the Fall Bazaar hosted each November. If you are interest in being a part of Women's Fellowship - please contact the church office at info@happycorner.org.
