Meet the Staff
Trent Smith, Senior Pastor
Trent Smith is a 2011 graduate from Bethany Theological Seminary with his Masters of Divinity. He entered into pastoral ministry in 2005 and joined the pastoral staff here at Happy Corner in July of 2012.
Having not grown up in the church, he is grateful to the Church of the Brethren for the rich faith and heritage that it has been instilled in him. His faith has also been deeply influenced through study of Celtic Christianity echoing from places like Scotland and Ireland, which emphasizes the notion that God is to be found in Creation and in the blessedness of humanity.
Trent and his wife Carrie have 4 children: 3 boys (Dominic, Finnegan, Linus) and a daughter (AnnaCate). They share a deep love for soccer and the Dayton Metroparks.
Seth Hendricks, Pastor of Special Ministries
Seth joined the pastoral staff in 2008, after graduating with his Masters of Divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary. He also received his Bachelors degree in Communications & Music at Manchester University. Seth has always felt a strong calling to ministry through music and has recorded over 8 albums. As a pastor, he has a great passion for working with folks of all ages and assisting in their spiritual formation. There is no greater joy than journeying with a community of faith and witnessing transformation along the way.
Seth and his wife Laina have lived in the Englewood area now for 8 years and have 3 young children named Ezra, Wren, and Arie.
Lisa Fletcher, Director of Church Administration
Lisa joined our office staff in February, 2014. She was born in Lima, Ohio and moved to the Miami Valley after marrying her husband Ron, a graduate of Northmont High School. Lisa has 25 years of office experience, and is enjoying her first job in a church ministry setting. She also has a passion for food, especially baking, and enjoys camping, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends.
Marcia Henderson, Facilities Coordinator
Marcia became a member at Happy Corner in 1999 and joined the staff in 2012. Maintaining the building is a reflection of her passion for extending hospitality and caring for others. Before joining the staff, Marcia ministered as a registered nurse for 48 years. When she is not caring for the building, she enjoys caring for her six beautiful grandchildren!
