A Place To Grow
As part of our journey as followers of Christ, we believe that it is important to study scripture and grow in our understanding of the life, mission, and teachings of Jesus Christ. Therefore, along with worship, a primary emphasis at Happy Corner involves teaching opportunities for all ages.
This includes Sunday morning classes, mid-week small groups, and seasonal elective Bible/book studies. The follow is a listing and guide of what is currently being offered at Happy Corner.
KIDS Club: During the fall, winter, and spring, we have a children’s program on Wednesday night called “Kids In Divine Service” or KIDS Club for short. It is for children age 3 to 9th grade. We study the Bible, participate in service projects, collect offerings for mission outreach, and grow together in community. This group meets from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on Wednesday nights.
Discovery Class – The Discovery class is made up of a variety of ages and meets on Sunday mornings from 9:30 -10:20 AM. The Discovery class offers a welcoming blend of scripture, book study, and discussion. Past studies include books like “The Shack” by William Young.
Koinonia & Happy Classes – These groups are both made up of older adults and meet on Sunday mornings between 9:30 – 10:20 AM. The classes offer study from the “A Guide to Biblical Studies” curriculum published by Brethren Press which is a quarterly publication and provides a more traditional approach to Bible Study that involves group scripture reading, discussion, and fellowship.
Youth Group: In the fall, winter, and spring, we have a youth program that meets from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on Wednesday nights. In the summer, the youth program focuses on conferences, service learning and mission trips.
Welcome Class– As needed, we offer a welcome class for new visitors. The goal of the Welcome Class is to allow our pastors the opportunity to share information about Happy Corner Church of the Brethren. This class explores our denominational history, theology, vision, and ministries of the church.
Women’s Fellowship: Women’s Fellowship is for women of all ages seeking to grow in faith. This group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. Women’s Fellowship hosts baby showers and bridal showers for members of our church family, and sponsors various events all year round. Some of the most popular of these events is the Annual Cabbage Roll Dinner in March and the Fall Bazaar hosted each November.
